Inpatient Ward, PL-3
The
PL-3 functions as the team leader during the day and the senior
admitting resident at night. He or she examines every patient
admitted to the team, aids the PL-1 in performing the H&P, helps
the PL-1 or student develop the differential diagnosis and provides
guidance regarding lab testing and the various treatment modalities.
In the case of an M-SET, the PL-3 is the team leader until the patient
is stabilized or an intensivist attending arrives.
