Inpatient Ward, PL-1
There
are two full-time pediatric inpatient attendings that provide on-site
and hands on supervision of all patient care activities in which
the residents participate. Subspecialists are also available
for direct patient care teaching and supervision. Residents
are taught to do procedures, interpret laboratory data, and perform
a beneficial history and physical exam. The residents are
assisted by the attendings in the decision-making processes.
Independent thinking is encouraged by the attendings when clinical
competence is established.
